Advice notes are provided to members of the Expert Witness Institute in support of their work. They represent the Institute’s view of good practice in a particular area, and members are not obliged to follow them. They do not constitute legal or professional advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for it. Whilst care has been taken to ensure that they are accurate, up to date, and useful, The Expert Witness Institute will not accept any legal liability in relation to them. If specific advice or information is required, then a suitably qualified professional should be consulted.

Kay Linnell awarded OBE in New Year Honours List

bySimon Berney-Edwards

The EWI offer our congratulations to Dr Kay Linnell on being awarded an OBE for services to Justice and particularly in recognition of your work as a Key Adviser to the Justice for Subpostmasters Alliance.

In 2023, Kay was awarded Hon Fellowship of the Institute for her services to the Institute (having served on the Board March 2005 to October 2022, including acting as Treasurer from 2014-2022) and to the wider Expert Witness community.

Her work as a Key Adviser to the Justice for Subpostmasters Alliance was highlighted in the ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office, but we caught up with Kay in 2022 to discuss her role and you can read that article here.
